Juno Health Named Top-Rated EHR Vendor for 2026

Juno Health received the top ranking for the 2026 EHR replacement market according to an independent survey by Black Book Market Research, which used an 18-point KPI qualitative framework representing the current, real-world demands of rural and small hospitals. Overall, Juno Health tallied the highest mean score of 9.32 out of 10 to distinguish us from the competition.

In the study, Juno Health finished first in key individual categories, including total cost of ownership  and support and responsiveness to small hospital clients, which were two of the highest weighted KPIs in the evaluation, as well as overall workflow efficiency.

Juno Health also stood out in the survey for rapid deployment, modular design, and high client retention scores, proving our alignment with the evolving needs of rural facilities.

"This recognition validates what we've been hearing directly from rural and critical access hospitals – they need EHR solutions that are affordable and support their clinicians with advanced usability." said Michael Bond, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Juno Health. "While legacy systems continue to burden small hospitals with ongoing maintenance costs and rigid workflows, our cloud-native platform delivers the value and ease-of-use that rural healthcare leaders demand."

Juno EHR scoring ahead of legacy EHR vendors indicates that there is a shift in preference towards modern, web-native, cloud-native, flexible solutions as opposed to 25+ year old technology that is not built to serve the future of healthcare.

Methodology

The Black Book study incorporated a newly enhanced qualitative KPI framework designed specifically for low-resourced hospitals. The survey analyzed the experiences of 533 validated users representing 487 distinct provider organizations across rural, community, and critical access hospitals.

Mounting financial pressure and old technology lead to increased replacement

According to Black Book, the EHR replacement market in 2026 is expected to be the most active in over a decade. Hospitals are looking for vendors that offer reduced external reliance, deliver responsive support, and empower small hospitals with next-generation technology.

Legacy EHRs are now seen as costly to maintain, lacking innovation, and not prioritizing support for rural hospitals. Vulnerable facilities are choosing to move away from high-overhead vendors in favor of more modern, flexible options that offer automation, simplified deployment, and fewer resource demands.
